Biography

Robert Gilbert, son of Robert Craigie Gardiner and Susan Membery (also recorded as More) of Marlborough.

In 1885 Robert married Margaret Ann Gledhill. Thirteen children were born during their marriage.

Robert and Margaret settled in Koromiko, Marlborough. He worked as a Bushman and later farmed at Tuamarina.

Robert died in 1955 aged 93 and was buried at Tuamarina Cemetery. Tuamarina Cemetery Lawn Burial, Block Number 3, Row Number 0, Plot Number 131
