Biography

Emmett was born on 16 November 1874[1] in Missouri (probably Bolivar, Polk County, where his family was enumerated in 1880). He was the son of Henry Gardner (from Indiana) and Ellen (from Missouri).[2]

He married Etha (Hulse) about 1895 and they lived in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with their children:

  1. Allen
  2. Leona
  3. Naomi
  4. Esther[3][4]

In 1930 Emmett and his wife were living with their granddaughter, Joan.[5] In 1940 they were living with their daughter Leona Johnson and son-in-law in Springfield, Missouri.[6]

E L John Gardner died in 1956 and was buried in South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa.[7]
