Bartlett Gardner was born on 29 April 1819. He is the son of Thaddeus Gardner and Eunice Starbuck, according to records of Deep River Monthly Meeting of Friends, Guilford County, North Carolina. [1]

On 16 January 1845 Bartlett Gardner and Ann Couch were married in Guilford County, North Carolina. [2]

By 1850 Bartlett, Ann and their children are living in Huntington County, Huntington, Indiana. Bartlett is a farmer with real estate valued at $600. The following are in his household: [3]
