Biography

George Peabody Gardner was born on 19 Nov 1855 in Boston, Massachusetts;[1] he was the son of George A. Gardner and Eliza Endicott Peabody.

In 1860,[2] George P. Gardner (age 4, born Massachusetts) was living in Beverly, Essex County, Massachusetts in the household of his father, George A. Gardner (age 35, born Massachusetts), with his mother, Eliza E. Gardner (age 25, born Massachusetts), and his Gardner siblings, all born in Massachusetts (age, sex): i) Catherine E. (3, F), ii) Ellen (0, F). Also in the household were the following people all occupied as servants: i) Sarah Young (21, born Nova Scotia), ii) Susan E. Muzzie (20, born Ireland), iii) Lucy Lewis (33, born Nova Scotia), iv) Eliza Bullard (40, born England), v) Patric Bullard (20, born Ireland). George, Sr.'s profession was a Merchant, and he had personal estate valued at $50,000.

In 1870,[3] George P. Gardner (age 15, born Massachusetts) was living in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts in the household of his father, George A. Gardner (age 40, born Massachusetts), with his mother, Eliz. E. Gardner (age 34, born Massachusetts), and his Gardner siblings, all born in Massachusetts (age, sex): i) Ellen (11, F), ii) John L. In 1930,[8] George P. Gardner, Sr. (age 74, born Massachusetts) was living in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts as head of household with his wife, Esther Gardner (age 71, born Massachusetts. Also in the household were 7 people employed as servants.

George Peabody Gardner, Sr. died on 6 Jun 1939 at his summer home on Monument Beach, Bourne, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, and he was buried in Burnett Memorial Cemetery, Southborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts. [9]
