Ninian William Gardner was born on 21 June 1878 in Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia [1], son of Robert Gardner and Jane Robson.

He married Martha Knight on 13 December 1905 in Cambewarra Village, New South Wales, Australia [2]and they were the parents of Edna Allison Gardner, Dorothy Isabel Gardner and Unnamed Son Gardner.

Ninian was known to have lived in Kangaroo Valley, New South Wales, Australia [3].

Ninian died on 1 August 1942 in Nowra, New South Wales, Australia [4] and was buried in the Methodist Section of the Nowra General Cemetery, Nowra, New South Wales, Australia [5].
