George died at the age of 41 on 23 September 1849 at sea on the Duke of Wellington on way to Australia.
Research Notes
Parentage may be uncertain. His profile at Familysearch shows his mother as Anne Gardener, as stated in notes below; while his other profile at Familysearch shows his parents as John Gardner (1785-) and Polly Jennings (1785-) (and neither of those profiles has a source.) The profile of his mother at Ann (Gardner) Meacham (abt.1781-) states that she may have married after giving birth. There's currently no evidence for John being his father. Can you add any facts and sources to this profile?
