Biography

  • John Gardner was born circa 1779, the son of Stephen Wilcox Gardner and Rebecca Dexter of Liverpool, Nova Scotia
  • On January 5, 1803, he married Elizabeth Freeman, daughter of Josiah Freeman and Mary Cobb [1] [2], and they had children, including:
  1. Rebecca Gardner 1804–1855
  2. Mary Gardner 1804–
  3. Capt William Gardner 1806–1871[3]
  4. John Gardner 1809-1869[4]
  5. Susannah Gardner 1810–1855
