Biography

Margaret Gardner was born about 1748 in Nantucket, Massachusetts to Joseph Gardner and Eunice Worth Gardner.

She married Elisha Swain, son of Charles Swain and Elizabeth Coffin Swain, 28 March 1771, after publishments 9 March 1771, in Nantucket. They had children Elisha and Betsey (neither of whom survived infancy) and Susanna and Nathan Swain.

Margaret Gardner Swain died in Nassau, Bahamas in 1789. "SWAIN, Margaret, w. Elisha (s. Charles and Elizabeth), d. Joseph Gardner and Eunice (Worth), _______, 1789 in New Providence, PR38."
