Jean was born in 1716 in Chirac, a small town in Langquedoc. He was the son of Jean Baptiste Garic and Antoinette Prejot. [1]
He came to New Orleans in 1738 when he was twenty two years old. [2]
Jean married Marie Antonia Fortuna. She died around 1759. They had no children. [3]
In 1769 he married Etinette Stephanie Gouyon des Rochettes. She was much younger than him. They were known for their lavish entertainment. [4]
Jean participated in the New Orleans rebellion of 1767-1769. [5]
He passed away in 1779.
