Biography
William M. Garland, 75, of St. Charles, Died Monday (April 30, 2001) at Missouri Veterans Home. Mr. Garland was a retired owner of St. Charles Auto Body. He was a member of VFW Post 2866 and American Legion Post 312. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1944 to 1946. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Paul Funeral Home, 240 North Kingshighway, St. Charles. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 101 Memorial Drive, south St. Louis County. Among survivors are three sons, William M. Garland III of Belleville, Steven L. Garland and Bruce E. Garland, both of St. Charles; three daughters, Theresa D. Henkel, Pamela F. Rico and Cynthia A. Garland-Vasquez, all of St. Charles; eight sisters, Louise Carrico, Lucille, Carrico, and Ellen Forrester, all of Mayfield, Ky., Theresa Desai of Indianapolis, Judy Elliott of Fancy Farm, Ky., Marilyn Miller of Sedalia, Ky., Dorothy Safford of Hilton Head, S.C. and Rose Ann Thomas of Elsmere, Ky.; two brothers, Joseph Garland of Fancy Farm, Ky., and Robert Garland of Murray, Ky.,; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
