Louviana Garland was born 27 Jan 1896 in Garland IT (modern Haskell Co., OK) to William Greenwood Garland and Mary Lavina Beller. Lavena's childhood and school days were spent around Little Sans Bois - Tamaha, Garland and Stigler, Oklahoma.
She married John Rupert Cook 17 Sep 1914[2] and they were parents to several children:[3]

The first four children were born in Garland or Stigler. Rupert Edwin and William Herbert passed away as babies and were laid to rest in Garland Cemetery. Harwood was born in Wichita, Kansas, Maude was born in Garland and Kenneth was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In October 1929, J.R. and Lavena moved to Mississippi where Willie Jim and Betty Jean were born.
Rupert and Lavena did farming and carpenter work in Oklahoma and continued to do so in Mississippi.
Lavena passed away on May 13, 1954 and is laid to rest in Smith Cemetery in Flora, Mississippi.
