Jean Baptiste Grenon, AKA Guernon, was born at Sillery, Bas-Canada, (Quebec), on July 5, 1862 and he was baptized there the next day. [1] He is a son of Barthelemi Grenon and Clarisse Rousseau who had married at St-Apollinaire on September 06, 1858.

Jean Baptiste Guernon married Marie Augustine on February 26, 1884 at Stanhope. [4] She was the last child of ten and the last daughter of three for Augustin Labossiere and Delphine Corriveau.

Marie and Jean Baptiste had 13 known children. The first two children were born in Canada, then about 1887, the family moved to Berlin, New Hampshire and six more children were born there. They must have moved to Maine about 1898 as five more children were born there. Jean Baptiste had already lived there earlier in 1880 with his family.

Grenon-216 and Garneau-140 appear to represent the same person because: Propose a merge of Grenon-216 and Garneau-140 as they are the same person. Sometime after immigrating to the U.S. , or during the immigration process, the family surname was changed to Garneau, the name used by his children.
