Kenneth (Kent) Garner, 75, of Magee, passed away Friday, August 16, 2013, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Rocky Hill Baptist Church in Magee with Bro. Thomas Sanders officiating Burial was in Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Garner and Geneva Jones Garner; brothers, Willard Garner and Bob Harold Garner; sisters, Elna C. Kennedy, Irene Cooper and Eugene Cooper.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elaine Moseley Garner; children, Randy Garner, Gloria Varnes (Johnny) and Pam Parish (Andy); grandchildren, Grant Garner (Morgan), Emily Garner Dye (Holt), Ken Garner (Ashley), Mitchell Garner, Jeffrey Varnes ( Raven), Jon Varnes, Dakota Parish and Molly Parish; step-grandchild, Jonathan Varnes; great-grandchildren, Harley Franke and Brailey Varnes; brother, Tom Henry Garner; sisters, Sue Bishop, Nelda Anderson and Fay Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were grandsons Grant Garner, Ken Garner, Mitchell Garner, Jeffrey Varnes, Jon Varnes and Dakota Parish.
