James Garner was born in 1863 in Castle Acre, Norfolk, England to Edward Garner and Amelia (Earl) Garner. His birth was registered in Freebridge Lynn, Norfolk in the second quarter of the year [as Jane Garner], with mother's maiden name Earl.[1]
In 1871 James Garner (age 7) lived at Fuller's Square in Castle Acre with his father Edward (43 [~48], Labourer), mother Meliah (41, Charwoman), and three brothers: Charles (16, Shoemaker Journeyman), John [Edward] (13, Labourer), and Edward [John] (9).[2]
In 1881 James Garner (age 17, Ag Lab) lived in Castle Acre with his widowed mother Emilia (47) and two brothers: Edward (22, Ag Lab) and John (18, Ag Lab).[3]
James' mother married Charles Chilvers in 1881.
In 1891 James Garner (age 25, Agricultural Labourer) lived at Pale's Green in Castle Acre with his brother Edward (29, Bricklayer's Labourer) and mother Amelia Chilvers (55, Nurse Sick).[4][5]
In 1901 James Garner (age 37, Agril Labourer) lived at Bailey Street in Castle Acre with his brother Edward (40, Bricklayers Labourer).[6]
James Garner passed away in 1904, aged 38 [~41] years. His death was registered in Freebridge Lynn in the second quarter of the year.[7]
