George William Garner was born in 1885 at Ipswich, in Queensland, Australia. He was the son of John Garner, a butcher from Birmingham in Warwickshire England, and his wife Mary Crotty who was from Belturbet, in County Cavan, Ireland. [1]
In 1918, George Garner married Ethel Fairley, at All Saints Anglican Church, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. [2]
George and Ethel had four children, and lived at Ipswich, in Queensland.
George William Garner passed away at the age of 54 years in 1939 at Ipswich General Hospital, and was buried at Ipswich General Cemetery, in Queensland, Australia. On his death certificate, his occupation was recorded as Crane Driver, and his four children were listed as Marjorie, Hazel, Mervyn and Keith Garner. [3]
George's death certificate states he died from Hypostatic Pneumonia, Anorexia and Inanition, and Melancholia.
