Mary Garner was born about 1848 in Salford, Lancashire [1]. Her parents were George Garner and Mary Unknown.[1]. In 1851 she was 3, living at 1 Withington Place, Manchester, Lancashire, England with her parents and siblings; James (17), William (15), Thomas (13), George (11), Patience (8), Ann(6) and Martha (0). The daughters were all scholars, except for Martha, even Mary age 3. George's four sons were all working. James was an errand boy, William a jobber in a print works, Thomas a jobber at a packing warehouse and George a button turner [1]. She died in [2]
