Funeral services for Mrs. Cardile [sic, s/b Cordelia] Bishop, 87, were conducted at 3:30 Thursday afternoon from West Laurel Baptist church with the Rev. W. E. Hellen and the Rev Damon Vaughn officiating. Interment followed in Hickory Grove cemetery.
Death came at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at a Laurel hospital. She had been in failing health for some time. Born and reared in Simpson county, she had been a Laurel resident for the past 44 years. Her home was at 711 Royal street. She was a member of West Laurel Baptist church and was widely known here.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. E. T. Parrish and Mrs. Sulie Rogers, both of Laurel; and Mrs. Bernice Knickerbocker, Mobile; 19 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

NOTE: Mrs. Bernice Knickerbocker (i.e. Myrtle May Bishop m. to Walter Bass Henderson, then Bernice Knickerbocker, then George Bush) was Cordelia Garner Bishop's daughter, Effie O. Bishop.
