Thomas Garnett was born about 1774.

He was a watchmaker. He married Jane Moss of Bold, Lancashire, England on 24 January 1799 in Prescot Lancashire England. ^{[1] [2]}

The couple had at least 4 children who were all baptised in Great Sankey Lancashire England between 1799 and 1806: Thomas 1799; ^[3] Richard 1802 ;^[4] William 1803, ^[5] and Jane 1806 ^[6]
