Bertha (Garnett) Cleary was born in Lancashire, England.

Bertha was born in Chorley, Lancashire, England, in 1892. ^[1] Her birth was registered in the fourth quarter. She was the daughter of John Garnett and Bertha Looney. She was enumerated in the 1901 ^[2] and 1911 census ^[3] residing with her family in Chorlton. In 1911 she stated she was eighteen, single, and a "Telephone Operator".

Bertha married Herbert Cleary in 1926.^[4] The marriage was registered in the second quarter in Manchester South. It is unknown if the couple had children. She passed away in 1975 in Salford, Lancashire.^[5]
