Darling Garnsey moved from Vermont to New York State with others of the Garnsey families by 1820. He and his wife, Amy Blood, lived in various places in Jefferson County and Lewis County, settling last in New Bremen, Lewis, New York. They had eight children. He died in 1847 and his wife died sometime later. They were buried on their farm in New Bremen.
