After his father died, his mother, siblings and he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and emigrated to America and then settled in North Ogden. Susannah married John Riddle. On 5 December 1858, Timothy married Lucinda Wilson Riddle, youngest daughter of John and Elizabeth Riddle. Timothy and Lucinda are found in the 1860 Federal Census of Weber County living with Susannah and another of her sons in North Ogden. They are found in the 1870 census, also in Weber County. They had eight children, six of whom grew to adulthood.
In 1875, Timothy and Lucinda divorced and Lucinda moved to Oneida County, Idaho. The two oldest daughters married (apparently a double wedding) in 1876 in Ogden. In the 1880 Federal Census, Timothy and one daughter, Lucinda Evered Garrard, age 10 were living in North Ogden, boarding with Hyrum and Elizabeth Roylance. Timothy apparently did not remarry. He moved to Jefferson County Idaho where he lived with his oldest daughter, Susannah Elizabeth Clifford. He died in Annis, Jefferson, Idaho, on 2 September 1898.
