Biography

Jesse Ephraim Garrett was born in North Syracuse, New York, 13 June 1877. His parents were Martha A. (Baum; 1846 - 1913) and Theron D. Garrett (1846 - 1935).

Jesse was enumerated at age 3 with his birth family in the 1880 census of Cicero, New York ^[1].

He married 23 June 1904, Elvira Berdina (French; 1877-1938). Three children proceeded from this union:

1. Elvira Bernice Garrett (1905-1945); married Robert Hiller
2. Byron Arlington Garrett (1908-1977); married Sophronia Ruth "Billie" Abbott
3. Carleton Theron Garrett (1910-1969); married Evelyn Lovina Virgil

This was a farming family, residing in Apulia Station (Fabius Township), Onondaga County, New York ^[2],^[3],^[4],^[5],^[6],^[7].

Jesse E. Garrett registered for the U.S. military draft in context of World War I ^[8]. He was a justice of the peace for many years, and also a member of the town board.
