Biography

This profile is part of the Dresden, Ohio One Place Study.

Henry was born in 1840. He is the son of John Garrett and Mary Fitz. The family was living in Madison Township, Muskingum County in 1850[1] and 1860.[2]

Henry served as a corporal with Company B, 1st Ohio Cavalry. He enlisted at the age of 23 on 27 February 1864. He was appointed corporal on 7 October 1864. Henry mustered out on 13 September 1865.[3]

Henry married Matilda McCain in 1864.[4] They were living in Madison Township in 1870,[5] 1880,[6] and 1900.[7] In 1910, they were in Salem Township.[8]

Henry and Matilda were the parents of:

Henry died in 1930.[19] Burial was at Adamsville Baptist Cemetery.[20]
