At some point between 1780 and 1783, Jacob Garrigues and his wife Mary migrated from Pennsylvania to Delaware with their surviving children who had been born in Pennsylvania. This definately included Sarah, and may have also included Mary Ann and Horace.

A careful reading of the 1800 census data suggests, but does not prove, that after Jacob Garrigues died in 1794, his oldest daughter Sarah remained with her mother Mary, but the rest of his children were cared for by his first cousin, Samuel Garrigues

"The Descendants of Matthieu and Susanne (nee Rochet) Garrigues..." by Robert Garrigus; Columbia MD: 2003. Best, most-recent research into the Garrigues family. [ This document consistently fails to convert Julian dates to Gregorian dates properly. i.e., 13th day, 7th month, 1743 is listed as July 13, 1743 when 7th month actually referred to September, so this date is September 7th in the Julian calendar and September 24th in the Gregorian calendar. Other than that, it's excellent. --- Chris Garrigues]
