Biography

John was born in 1873. He was the son of Barney Garrison and Nancy Owen. He died in 1952 of pneumonia, and is buried in Braswell Cemetery, Good Hope, Georgia.[1][2][3]

He is first listed in the 1880 US Census, living with his parents and several siblings in Banks County, Georgia [4]:

He registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sep 1918. This was the Third Draft for men aged 18-45; he was 45 years old at the time. He was living in High Shoals, Morgan County, Georgia, working as a farmer. He described himself as medium height, medium build, with grey eyes and black hair. Because of his family it is doubtful that he was called for duty. [7]

His family is still living in Wellington as of the 1920 US Census. There are now five children in the household [8]:
