William was born in 1847, the son of David Garrison and Nancy Meaders. He passed away in 1926 and is buried in Midway Cemetery, Gillsville, Georgia, according to the "Descendants of Jedediah Garrison".[1] Find-A-Grave.com, however, lists his and his wife's burial site as Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville Georgia, with pictures of the headstones.[2] According to death certificate, he died of hemiplegia followed by bronchiopneumonia.[3]
He is listed in the 1860 US Census as living in Banks County, Georgia with his parents and numerous brothers and sisters:

1870 Census: 12 Jul 1870, Banks County, Georgia, District # 248, Bushville, page # 88, living with mother, listed as age 22, farm hand, born in Georgia. Note that he is now married; both he and his wife (Sallie A.) are living with his mother.[1][7]
