Biography

Mary was born in 1866. She was the daughter of Hugh P. Garrity (1842-1884) and Cecilia McLaughlin (1844-1875). Both parents were born in Ireland.

She is recorded in the 1880 census of Hennepin, MN, the oldest of 7 children.^[1]

She married Nicholas McCarthy in 1886 according to FamilySearch, which records the following children:

Mabel May McCarthy (dates unclear, FS lists a Mabel May born in 1887 and Mabel in 1889, but there are no listings for a daughter by that name in the censuses examined)

Eileen Cicily McCarthy 1890-1976

Marie Agnes McCarthy 1894-1942

Dorothy McCarthy 1902-1993

Eileen and Marie were born in Minnesota. They moved to Spokane, WA before 1900 and settled there.

She passed away in 1937.
