William "the clerk" of Garstang m. Siegrid, dau. of William I de Lancaster and brought with her in Frank-marriage, lands and a mill in Garstang
William the clerk and their son, Paulin de Garstang, are named in an agreement, dated to 1194/99, by the abbot and monks of Wyresdale, with H., chaplain of St. Michael's on Wyre.
