On 5 April 1788, Samuel Garthright of the parish and County of Henrico gives to his son John Garthright of the same parish and county, for "love and affection" and 5 shillings, 265 acres in the aforesaid parish and county "part of a tract of land purchased of James P. Cocke and Richard Randolph". The deed is witnessed by John Pleasants, Benj. Goode, Joseph Goode and William Frayser.
