Patrick Gartland was born in about 1851 in Snillelagh, Ireland.
Patrick married Margaret Fagan.
Their son Mathew Gartland was born on 7 Feb 1874 at their home, 4 Graves Cottages, Newfoundland Street, Dublin. His father's occupation was given as engine driver.[1] He was christened on 9 February 1874 at St Lawrence's Church in Dublin.[2]
Their son John Joseph Gartland was born in about 1876 in St Helens, Lancashire. His birth was registered in the first quarter of 1876, in Prescot district, as John Joseph Garthland.
By April 3rd 1881, the family were living in Barbers Court, Parr. Patrick had a job as a fireman.
Their son Patrick Gartland was born on 7 Apr 1882 at the family home, 27 Clarence Street, Dublin. His father's occupation was given as labourer.[3]
Their son James Gartland was born in 1886 in St Helens, Lancashire. His birth was registered in the last quarter of 1886, in Prescot district (with mother's maiden name spelled Fegan).
By April 5th 1891, they were living at 1 Barbers Court, Parr. Patrick was working as a general labourer, and so were Matthew and John Joseph.
