Biography
- Charles Smith and his wife, Nelly Hickenbottom, came from South Carolina in 1811 and settled on Magees Creek, west side, below China Grove near Peter Sandifer. Their children were Elias, who married Mary Gartman, Zachariah, Pharo, Joseph and Charles."[1]
