Biography

Sanford was born in Holmes County, Ohio in 1861, the youngest son of Daniel and his first wife, Edie (Way) Garver. His mother passed away when he was about a year old. He was enumerated with his siblings in his father's home in Holmes County in 1870 (age 8)^[1] and 1880 (age 18).^[2]

In 1887, when he was about 25 years old, he married Ella E Titus in Union County, Ohio.^[3] They remained in Union County, and the 1900 Census shows that Sanford is 38 and Ella is 28. They have been married 13 years and had 3 children, with one—Carrie A, age 8—surviving and in the household. They are farming and own the farm free and clear.^[4]

Sanford passed away of pneumonia in Logan County, Ohio, in 1937 and was buried at "Claiborne Cemetery" there.
