Minnie was born about 1857, somewhere in New York, according to U.S. Census records. In U.S. Censuses she (or the interviewee) stated her father was born in Massachusetts and her mother in Pennsylvania. Minnie was Catholic, attending St. Vincent's in Vallejo, California. She was mostly Irish, since I have a substantial amount of otherwise unaccounted for Irish DNA. She passed away in 1902 in Vallejo, California, at age 41.

"Garvin Minnie, seamstress, r. 809 Vallejo"
This was just before she would have married husband Edwin Henry 'E.H.' Packard, as their son Edward was b. March 1879.
Many family members believe her surname was "Garvey". However, the midwife attending the birth of daughter Estella May Packard wrote it as Garvin. I surmise Minnie must have been there to tell her that.
