Irvin Leroy Gary, 79, of Traverse City, died at his home Saturday. He was retired contractor. Mr. Gary was born May 8, 1900, in Falls City, Neb., the son of James and Ella Gary. He was married March 15, 1924, in Traverse City to Dorothy Nelson. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Murmen L. of Traverse City; and Irvin F. of Grand Rapids; one daughter, Maxine Phipps of Grand Rapids; and one sister, Anna Burnett of Springfield, Ore.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was a resident of the Traverse City area all his life and was a member of the Faith Reformed Church. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Faith Reformed Church, with the Rev. Warren Burgess officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. Friends may call at the Martinson Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Michigan Lung Association.
