Biography
Hilda was born in McAllen, Texas on 21 August 1922 to Alejandro Garza and Maria Tijerina.[1] According to the 1940 census, she and her brother, Raul, were living with her sister Enriquetta and brother-in-law in Cameron County, Texas. She was 17 at the time, and the census states she was living in the same place in 1935.[2] She married [Juan?] Garcia. Hilda died in Harlingen, Texas on 20 April 1946. According to her death certificate, she had pneumococcal meningitis, sinusitis, erysipelas and was 5 months pregnant; the latter 2 were listed as contributing factors to her death.[3]
