Biography

John was born September 18, 1864 at North Lake, York County, New Brunswick. He was a son of George Henry Gaskin and Sarah Elizabeth (Scott) Gaskin.^[1]

He married Roana G. Rowe/Howe aka Roxie of Orient, Maine in 1887.^[1]

They lived for a time at North Lake where several of their childwere born. In 1896, they moved to Maine and resided at Stacyville Plantation.

In 1914, they moved to Millinocket where they lived their remaining years.^[1]

He worked as a section foreman for the railway.

He was a 32nd degree Master and Noble of the Anah Temple Mytic Shrine, of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Orange Lodge and the Klu Klux Klan.^[1]

John passed away on February 28, 1936 in Millinocket, Maine at the age of 72. He was interred at the Millinocket Cemetery.^[1]
