Biography

Henry Gaskins was born before 1650, in Accomack County, Virginia, a son of Thomas Gascoigne, born 1601, in England, an early immigrant to the British Colony of Virginia. [1]

The Will of Thomas Gascoynes/Gaskins was printed in the Bulletin of the Northumberland County Historical Society, Vol. XXVII - 1990, "A Genealogical Find" by Carolyn Jett, Page 51 [2] and was dated 20 Jun 1663. Henry's children were born in Northumberland County, Virginia:

  • Elizabeth Gaskins, born March 31, 1681
  • Mary Gaskins, born May 21, 1683
  • Thomas Gaskins, born September 22, 1685, died May 14, 1730, in Northumberland County
  • Francis Gaskins, son, born August 6, 1693, in St. Stephen's Parish, Northumberland County, Virginia, died after 1737, in Northumberland County, father of Isaac, Leannah and Jesse Gaskins
  • Richard Gaskins, born July 17, 1693, in St. Stephen's Parish,
  • Henry Gaskins, Jr. born before 1704, father of Elizabeth Frances Gaskins, born March 15, 1724
  • John Gaskins, born before 1704, died April 14, 1746, in St. Stephen's Parish, married Elizabeth Parker, daughter of William Parker and Jane Price

Father of seven children, Henry also petitioned the Court in the behalf of the estate of THOMAS GASCOYNE, deced., and received the five children of his eldest brother [3]

Henry's Will was recorded by his Executrix and eldest daughter, Elizabeth: [4] Northumberland County Court October 20, 1697 Upon the Motion of ELIZABETH GASKINS Executrix a Probate is granted her of the Last Will and Testament of HENRY GASKINS deceased, the Will being proved by the Oaths of THOMAS MAIZE and THOMAS HOBSON Witnesses to the said Will and is Recorded.

Gaskins-9 and Gascoigne-315 appear to represent the same person because: same person. He didnt die in 33 if he had a wife.
