Sarah Kathryne Gass Arnett Bible died peacefully at her home on July 9, 2019. Kathryne was born November 14, 1922, in Jefferson County, Tennessee to Ernest and Callie Snow Gass. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Paul Monroe Arnett and John Thomas Bible; sons: Paul Timothy Arnett Bible, Christopher Thomas Bible, and John Wesley Bible.
One of nine children, Kathryne was preceded in death by brothers: Conrad Gass, Snow Gass, Robert Gass, James Gass, Kenneth Gass and sisters: Peggy Gass Denton and Maxine Gass Minter.
Her only surviving sibling is Charlie Gass (Linda) of Jefferson City, TN.
Kathryne is survived by her daughters: Kathy Bible Combs (Steve) and Libby Bible Jaynes (Joe), along with daughters-in-law: Patricia Carter Bible and former daughter-in-law: Lisa Catron. Grandchildren: Traci Bible Rodimon (Billy), Laura Bible Rader (James), Andrew Combs, Sarah Combs Massa (Stan), Jenny Cole Adams (John), Paula Bible Chesworth, Chris Cole (Yegi), Charley Bible (Tanya), and Anna Jaynes Deering (Jason).
Kathryne leaves a legacy of twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Kathryne has been an active member of First Baptist Church since 1948, when she and her husband, John T. bible, moved to Morristown. She serves her church in many capacities throughout the years. Even after health issues prevented her attendance, she worshipped via the TV ministry, from her home. Her life was bout nurturing and growing things…families and gardens. A talented seamstress.. during the decades of the 50’s and 60’s, Kathryne made most of her daughters’ clothes, as well as her own. Both of their wedding gowns were her creations.
Kathryne was active in the work of General Federated Women’s Club as a member of Junior Reading Circle and Ladies’ Reading Circle. Through GFWC, she made many contributions to her community.

Kathryne was a long-time supporter of Young Life Ministries. In lieu of flowers, contributions to this program or to the First Baptist Church Morristown Building Fund, would honor her memory and be appreciated by the family.
A private family burial will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Morristown. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the church.
