Biography

From his daughter findagrave site are photo snippets of Family of John Springs III

"Henry Gassaway eldest son of Thomas Gassaway and his wife Susannah, sold his interest in the homestead to his brother John and others, and removed to Annapolis. His first wife was Rebecca Chapman. Sophia daughter of Henry Gassaway and his wife Rebecca Chapman was born 1723, and married John Springs of Jones Neck and Dover, Delaware, and removed with him and their five children in 1766 to North Carolina."

Henry was born 5 Aug 1723[1]. He was the son of Thomas Gassaway and Susannah Hanslap. From the All Hallows Parish Records, Ann Arundel County, PDF link from the Maryland Archives, it states "Henry, son of Thomas Gassaway and Susan his wife b. 5 Aug 1723. (NOTE: the PDF link is page 95, text page #11. It takes awhile to load the entire pdf, it is nearly 1 gigabyte, FYI). He passed away about 1776.

From Sophia Gassaway Springs findagrave site are photo snippets of Family of John Springs III

"Henry Gassaway eldest son of Thomas Gassaway and his wife Susannah, sold his interest in the homestead to his brother John and others, and removed to Annapolis. His first wife was Rebecca Chapman. Sophia daughter of Henry Gassaway and his wife Rebecca Chapman was born 1723, and married John Springs of Jones Neck and Dover, Delaware, and removed with him and their five children in 1766 to North Carolina." The birth date of Sophia matches her grave???

But the archives do clearly say Henry son of Thomas & Susannah was born in 1823. ...so, is Sophia's father a Henry of an older brother of Thomas and the Springs book projected the wrong father when knowing the grandfather?

Gassaway-331 and Gassaway-232 appear to represent the same person because: Same person one with his wife & parents and one with his daughter

This profile has been flagged as having a data error: A child's birth date (Gassaway-208 born 1723) should not be before a parent is six years old (Gassaway-232 born 5 Aug 1723) . It would be appreciated if you could kindly review and fix if possible.

Thank you in advance.
