Richard E Gassen was born on 12 May 1942 in Garnett, Anderson, Kansas, United States, son of Albert Martin Gassen (~1916 - ~1975) and Edith Lorraine (Crouch) Gassen (~1924 - ~2006).

His brother was Lloyd Nolan Gassen (1944 - 1992).

Richard E. Gassen, 64, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away February 26, 2007 at Sweet Life of Rosehill. Richard was born May 12, 1942, in Garnett, Ks. He graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1960, and later, the Kansas Barber College in Wichita. Richard worked in several shops in Topeka and the Kansas City area, most recently as a partner at Metcalf 103 Barbershop.

Richard loved NHRA Drag Racing, a good pool game, the ocean and a cold beer.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, a sister and two brothers who live in Topeka.

Richard was cremated, there were no services, and memorials were made to the American Cancer Society.
