Hi,

Please be aware when sending categories for rename that the new category must exist. There not a magic formula that creates it. I have used the info in the old category to create the new one but you had best check that is correct. Category: Völkleshofen (Aspach), Baden-Württemberg

Regards David. Categorization Project member.

Gus,

I noticed some of the changes that you made for Bernhard Sauer-910. Thanks for adding sources!

I see that you are using <span class="hidden">. I just wanted to make sure you're aware that the <span> tags and HTML/CSS coding are not recommended on WikiTree Profiles. See:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Recommended_Tags https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:HTML_and_Inline_CSS https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Alternative_Sourcing_Methods

We try to keep profiles as simple as possible so that members of all skill levels feel comfortable making additions. If you've used another method than what's outlined in the [ https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Alternative_Sourcing_Methods Recommended Sourcing Methods], it's not uncommon for other members to revise the profile biography to bring them in line with our Style Guide: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Style_FAQ

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks, Kay, for taken the time to explain about the barriers I put up. But this is a game I can't win. If I follow the recommendations, then reusing the citations becomes far more cumbersome, because I then have to scan the entire profile up and down where I might have put the original <ref> tag, and I can never read the biography properly with all the clutter. ( tried! - and I put the first line in all my profiles after careful consideration.) I just got used to the <span>s and find that they suit my needs better than the alternatives. (Of course I sit on the bubble, and one day someone will simply take away the functionality, but until then...)

Cheers

Dear Germany Project member,

it's annual check-in time 2023. If you still wish to remain a member of the Germany Project, please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help, with researching your German ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Germany in order for knowledgeable people to see them.

If you wish to remain a member, we would like to learn more about your perception of the Germany Project in order to achieve a future development according to our members needs and wishes. For this, we created a survey, which we kindly ask you to fill-in.

In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.

Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.

Kind regards from Black Forest

Hey hun,

First I am so glad you are a part of Legacy Heirs.

As you know, we start cleaning tomorrow morning. It will start at 5 am Pacific U.S. and 8 Eastern U.S. Everyone else starts at that same moment, just in your own time zone. If you are in one that is not one of those, figure the equivalent for where you are. You do not have to be there right when we start but can if you are able and wish to.

When you are finished with a profile, click the box that comes up after you save, it will let you then put what you did and after you mark it and save, it will make your count entry.

Maggie mentioned the spreadsheet. I have never used it, if you have or like the looks of it, go for it. I like to go to the suggestions page in my own profile.

posted by Lisa (Kelsey) Murphy

(this works for any profile you wish to start with) I then try to clear any that are in my profiles and then move on. After mine are as done as I can, on the top of the page, there is the data doctors logo. Clicking on that will take you to a page to search for the ones you want to work on. Make your choices and search. It will give you a list of profiles across the tree that need help.

If you need more help, feel free to ask and I will do my best to keep up with them and answer as quickly and efficiently as possible.
