Biography

Daisy was born in 1874 in Lewis County, West Virginia, probably in Gaston where her family settled. She was the second and last-born and daughter of John 'Lank' Malangthan Gaston and Mary 'Molly' Margaret Morris. She continued to live with her parents for many years as an adult, and only married at age 37 in 1911 to Leroy Mifflin Lawson at her parents' residence (probably in Gaston) in Lewis County. They settled to farm in the Skin Creek area, possibly on her father's place in Gaston; her father was living with them in 1920. They had one child together. The couple retired to live in nearby Horner, WV. Daisy died there of pneumonia in 1948 at age 74. She is buried with her husband in Peterson Cemetery in Weston, WV.
