Biography

Benjamin Butler Gates, born in March 1800 in Connecticut, was a son of Lydia (Butler) and Benjamin Gates (1774-1844).

He married 28 Jun 1829, in Pennsylvania, Susannah Alvord. They had 9 children, their first three born in Cass County, Michigan, the remainder in Lamoin and Hamilton, Illinois:
