Paul was born July 8th, 1729 in East Haddam, Connecticut to Daniel and Sarah Gates.[1]
He married Mehitable Rogers on 11 January 1759 at East Haddam, Connecticut. She was a descendant of Mayflower passenger Thomas Rogers.[2] Mehitable was born on 09 December 1731 in Eastham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Nathaniel and Silence (Dimmock) Rogers.[3]
