Biography

Margret Patience Gates was born on September 5, 1838, in Paint Lick, Kentucky, daughter of George Robertson Gates and Mary McWilliams Wiley. She married Thomas Augustus "Tom" Mallow in 1866 in McKinney, Texas. They had four children during their marriage, only one surviving to adulthood. She died on January 14, 1915, in McKinney, Texas, having lived a long life of 76 years, and was buried there.
