Elizabeth Penney Bramwell, sister of William Penney Bramwell married Walter Valder Gates born 1846, who was a dairy farmer. Their son Walter Rougier Bramwell St John Gates also known as Walter Bramwell St John Gates was the founder of the Cow and Gates empire. His son William Paul Bramwell Gates or otherwise known as Paul William Henry Bramwell Gates worked with his brother and father and was the founder of the dried milk product. Sarah Penney Bramwell married a Rougier on Guernsey, Channel Islands and adopted WPB's daughter Emma, changing the latter's name, eventually to Rougier.
