FUNERAL ON WEDNESDAY
John Gatins, aged about seventy years died of general debility last evening at the Gatins home No 763 Railroad Street, Ninth Ward, after a long illness. He was born in Ireland, but came to America many years ago and settled in the South, where he was forced to enlist in the Southern army during the Rebellion. When he was compelled to relinquish his duties with the local concern some time ago he was employed as a watchman. Mr Gatins and Miss Catherine Kelly were married at St. John's Church here forty-one years ago. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Frank, the well known professional baseball player, at present located at Newark, N. J. ; Bridget, wife of William Campbell, who resides in the rear of the Gatins' home; John, Jr, of Church Street; Miss Kathryn an employee of the Johnstown Telephone Company and Miss Rosella and James Gatins at home.
The funeral will take place at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. John's Catholic Church of which the deceased is a member. Interment will be made in the church cemetery in Geistown.
