He married Mabel Vogt on 4 June 1919.[3] Their only child, Dorothy, was born later that year and lived for approximately two weeks.[4]
In 1920, Clarence worked as a clerk in the post office.[5] In 1930, he was a chauffeur.[6]
By 1933, he and Mabel had moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a driver for R. N. Cardozo & Bro.[7] In 1940, he was a shipping clerk.[8] In 1941, he was a driver for M. J. Noel.[9] In 1950, he was a shipping clerk for a retail department store.[10]
