Zachariah was born about 1792 in Georgia. His parents were Levi Gatlin and Barbara Worsley. His father was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. His parents had moved from North Carolina to Georgia after the Revolutionary War.
Zachariah married Mariah Johnson in Wilkes County, Georgia in 1817. His family moved to Morgan County, Georgia and Zachariah followed.
He was living in Morgan County, Georgia in the 1820s. He made his will in May of 1824 and died sometime that year. His will was proved in court in November of 1824. He names his wife Mariah and children: Sarah, Louisa, and Emily. He signed the will.
He is listed on the tax digest in Morgan County in 1820, 1822, 1823, 1824.
He was a fortunate drawer in the 1821 Land Lottery from Morgan County.
