With his parents he moved to Menan in 1946 where he attended school in Menan, Midway Jr. High and Rigby High School. Randy was married twice and divorced. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, music and cars, especially his Corvette's. After high school he followed his father into the lumber business by going to work at Boise Cascade in Idaho Falls where he worked for 18 years.
